Dr N Anuradha N is currently the Faculty at Elite School of Optometry (ESO) and Program In-Chrage for school children eye health at Sankara Nethralaya. She is the vision screening coordinator for community outreach activities of Elite School of Optometry. Her responsibilities include teaching Visual Optics, Public Health and Community Optometry, Epidemiology, Clinical refraction and Comprehensive optometry skills training. Her research interests include school eye health, community optometry, refractive errors, optometric education and quality of life studies. Dr Narayanan ontained her Bachelor and Doctorate degrees from Elite School of Optometry, India. Prior to taking up teaching and community activities at Sankara Nethralaya, Dr Narayanan was the Optometrist-in-charge of the LASIK clinic at Sankara Nethralaya, India from 1998. She has authored books on optometry education, school children screening and contributed chapter on occupational optometry apart from the publications and conference presentations. She, as a faculty in the college for Optometry has been responsible for social accountability in optometric education through outreach initiatives.

Under her leadership ESO achieved the LIMCA record of screening 8469 children in one day. She has coordinated the screening for 279,823 school children between 2011-2017. Single day screening strategy, phased and structured protocol for school vision screening, implementation of interventions to improve compliance, upgrading existing protocols for school vision screening, installation of Tamil logMAR charts for self-testing in public places, planning and implementing creative awareness campaigns, arrangement of rallies, training of optometrists and optometry students for community service, training volunteers as vision and Sight ambassadors are the key roles of the coordinator. She is also responsible for the regular comprehensive free eye camps conducted by ESO.
